Where Do You Find Peace?

There is something about a beautiful tree at a riverside with the sunshine dancing though the leaves.  I can’t explain how beautiful I find it.  It is one of the places that makes me feel most peaceful.  So I have started to paint my favourite place.  This is where I am so far.  What makes you feel peaceful?

Elephants are BEAUTIFUL

It’s a limited edition print signing kind of day! 💋 I’m super excited about my latest collection of prints soon to be added to my Art Finder store! They will be my first EVER prints and I am thrilled with how they have turned out.  Every brush stroke is clear and true to the originals, whilst the colours are just as  vivid too.  Keep an eye out on my Facebook for details (it’s not just the beautiful elephants that I will have in store…) Emily xx

A Colourful Start To The New Year!

After a fantastic Christmas and New Year (with a cheeky ski trip to Bulgaria), I am back to the easel with a SKIP, HOP and a SPLASH of paint (preferably not on the carpet please).  I have so many fun new ideas I cannot wait to get onto canvas, with plenty of commissions lined up!  It’s fair to say I am very much looking forward to what this year has in store. And because I am feeling so happy I thought I would share the good vibes with a lovely sale on all of my paintings for one month only (hoorah for bargains!).  So to start the new year off, if you feel like infusing a boost of colour into your home then head on over to my Art Finder store for sales galore (yes, I am a poet…I did not know it!).  There’s 10% off everything, which is always nice isn’t it? Just click the link below https://www.artfinder.com/artist/emily-louise-heard/sale/ Much Love  x

Life Is Not A Dress Rehearsal

The best kind of Sundays are undoubtedly spent with a paint brush in my hand, and with paint on my face.  Today I have been having UBER amounts of fun painting a colourful little duck family with oils on MDF board.  This is the first time I have ever painted on MDF board with oils, and I have to say it’s a lovely surface to paint on- so smooth and forgiving with the crazy colours and energetic brush strokes that I tend to use with my work!  I cannot wait to experiment more with this surface with my new collection of paintings ‘The Joy of Animals’.  This collection of work will be in aid of raising awareness for the Soi Dog Foundation, a charity who provide invaluable support to some of Thailand’s most desperate dogs.  Once the collection is complete, I will be donating 10% of all sales to the charity.  However, it’s now time for me to pack up my paint brushes tomorrow and head home to Wales for Christmas.  I cannot believe just how …

Pictures can speak a thousand words…

Firstly,  I need to apologise for my extreme lack of blog posts lately- the only excuse I have is that I have been a really busy little bee with paintings and commissions, and I do all of this whilst juggling my time around a full time day job like a wizard. They say that a picture can speak a thousand words, so to save you a bit of reading time I thought I would let my colourful new works do the talking.  I hope that you enjoy 🙂 I will be writing a bit about the stories behind each commission over my next few posts, so keep an eye out.  People have the most beautiful reasons for commissioning original artwork, and it’s a process that I love to be a part of.
