I've been adding the finishing touches on this one today! If an award would go to the world's person most incapable of being tidy when painting it would go to me. I don't know what it is about oil paints but I find it completely impossible not to get it all over my hands, all over whatever mug I'm drinking out of and I swear it's even in my hair. I don't have the same problem when I use acrylics 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, hope you're enjoying the beautiful sunshine where you are! Matt (my husband) and I decided now was the time to get our garden totally redone to make it more child friendly for our ever curious toddler, Elvia. But it does mean we can't make use of it at the moment and I'm craving being able to sit on the grass in the shade!! 🌲🌳🌴🎄.

Stage two of my latest work in progress 💓

Having just released a collection of 22 paintings I felt like I needed just a tiny bit of time to recoup and create something just for the joy of it before I start work on the next big release! I've switched from my beloved acrylics to play around with oils (an old long lost friend) with this new work in progress.

Painting colourful abstract beaches straight from my dreams ✨✨✨✨

Can't visit the beach at the moment so I'm visiting via my painting instead. Shoes off, feet in the sea, living the dream ✌️☮️ .

Not really sure why I feel compelled to paint cow faces amongst a colourful abstract sky. But I've always thought they are the most gentle, kind creatures. We passed a field of cows the other day on one of our walks with Elvia and she just squealed with absolute delight and pointed and waved with sheer wonder at them like they were the most magical things she had ever seen, and it made me so happy. Lockdown life is getting a little strained and repetitive at the moment, but her blazing innocent light burns through the haze of the days rolling into one and the times where she delights in things we would perhaps not even notice made me want to paint some cows. These cow faces are for you, baby Elvia 💓💓 may you never stop seeing the beauty in things some of us overlook 💜💜

I literally cannot decide which is my favourite combination of works from the Pick N Mix series. I am like a child in a sweet shop (yes, an arty one at that) trying to work out which combinations I like the best. And do you know what, I like them all! I created this collection with that in mind - it's meant to be mixed and matched. Because who doesn't love a quirky yet beautifully complimentary gallery wall going up their staircase with original art in the mix? It's been a really fun and different experience for me working on paper, and has opened my eyes to a new way of creating art!
